Mr Manoj Sood

BSc.(Hons) MB. FRCS(Eng.) FRCS(Tr. & Orth.)

Manoj is a Senior Specialist Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and and a respected Hip, Knee & Sports Specialist. He has a keen interest in the management of tendinopathies and is the founder of the clinic.

Manoj graduated from Guys Hospital and trained in Orthopaedic Surgery at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and abroad at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto and at The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.  He runs a Specialist Hip and Knee Surgery practice in London, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire as well practising here at the Tendinopathy Clinic.

He is passionate about offering patients the whole spectrum of treatments for their problem and to provide individualised treatment plans that take into account work and lesisure activities.  He is known for not giving up even with very complex or hard to treat conditions.

Manoj is a Honorary Senior lecturer at The University of Hertfordshire, an Examiner at The Royal College of Surgeons of England and a Sub-Editor at The Journal of Arthroscopy & Joint Surgery.  He is on the expert panel for Arthritis Care, a leading Arthritis charity.  He is active in research and regularly publishes and presents work Nationally and Internationally

Dr Colin Crosby

MA (Oxon) FFSEM(UK) FFSEM(I) MB BS MRCS LRCP

One of the few full-time Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) Specialists in the UK, Colin is Medical Director of The Department of Sport and Exercise Medicine at BMI Hendon Hospital in London.
He is also Treasurer and Past President of the Section of Sport and Exercise Medicine of The Royal Society of Medicine.  In 2006 he received one of his most prestigious appointments, being elected a Foundation Fellow of the newly created Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine.
A former Regional Chairman of the British Association of Sport & Exercise Medicine (BASEM), he was also a founder member of the United Kingdom Association of Doctors in Sport (UKADIS).
After a first degree in Human Physiology at Oxford, he read Medicine at St Mary’s Hospital, London and trained in Orthopaedic Surgery before setting up several Sports Injury Clinics in London and the South East. He is a Senior Lecturer in SEM at the Postgraduate Medical School of the University of Hertfordshire as well as Medical advisor to several companies, health clubs and other organisations.

Jon Wride

Jonathan is a specialist Physiotherapist passionate about the rehabilitation of tendon problems. As well as working at The Tendon Pain Clinic he currently runs a busy second opinion tendon clinic in North London for both elite athletes and the everyday person.

Jonathan obtained a 1st Class honours degree in Physiotherapy from Cardiff University and has since worked extensively in both NHS and private settings. He has recently consulted for the Bedfordshire NHS to successfully create and implement innovative treatment pathways for resistant tendinopathy problems. Currently Jonathan is a lecturer and national trainer in Shockwave therapy for ElectroMedicalSystems, helping teach clinicians how to integrate best evidence based tendon management into clinical practice.

Jonathan has a keen interest in diagnostic ultrasound imaging and is currently studying for his post-graduate certificate in musculoskeletal sonography. Jonathan is an accredited member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. He is also one of only a handful of clinicians in the UK to practice Intra-Muscular Stimulation, (a highly specialised medical dry needling technique) for chronic pain management.

Jonathan is a firm believer in creating simple individualised rehabilitation programmes that can be easily incorporated into daily life, for maximum effectiveness.

Joe Smiles

Joe is a Sports and Exercise practitioner and Personal trainer who helps our clients to strengthen and condition themselves whilst recovering from tendinopathies.   He has run a personal training business since 2003 and specialises in injury rehabilitation leading to performance training for sport, increased strength, conditioning, and fitness levels.  He has a particular interest in life-style coaching for weight loss, involving a holistic approach with changes to thinking and behaviour, diet and nutrition, and exercise-related training prescriptions.  He prepares programmes that are individualised our clients life-styles.  Joe has a BSc in sport and exercise science, and diplomas in life coaching, performance coaching, and sport psychology.
