Tendinopathies tend to come on gradually and it is common to ignore the pain when it is mild and to keep on training. This is understandable. It is not until the pain prevents sports and training, and causes pain even on normal daily activities that people seek help.
It is important to heed the warnings of mild early pain and to reduce your training. If you carry on training (as many of us do) and things get much worse, then seek specialist help early. Our results show that early treatment of tendon pain results in a quicker recovery in many cases…but only if the right treatment is suggested.
